Progress bar isn't calibrated correctly

I'm noticing that the progress bar always expects more iterations than it actually receives before exiting. It seems to be off by a constant value since shorter samples cut off much earlier in the progress bar than longer samples which make it almost to the end of the progress bar. This seems to be an issue both during sample preparation and sample playback.
