How to change the repo name without getting a 404

Hi,
I have forked this project and have linked it up to my custom subdomain wiki.karsidonline.com and I want to change the name of the repo from the .github.io to wiki. Is it possible? How can I do it?

Hi,
From reading the info from Github here: https://guides.github.com/features/pages/ it seems that the Github repo does have to follow that naming convention for the repo to be seen as a Github pages repo.
