SONiC P4 softswitch Jenkins build failing

Greetings,

I've spoken to a few SONiC people about the issue
sonic-net/sonic-buildimage#2005
of SONiC's P4 softswitch build failing for >6 months:

& they suggested that Barefoot folks are best positioned to find & fix the regression.

Any progress that could be made on getting a working SONiC/P4 build again would be much appreciated.

specifically, the issue seems to be in the changes made to src/sonic-sairedis:

perhaps this might help with a fix?
