MyOwmNotes don't take my certificate

eephyne opened this issue · comments

I have certified my certificate with CA Cert. Since CACert are not present in android and since I don't want to add a pin code to my android device I copied the cert in /system/etc/security/cacerts.

Every app is working fine (marked as secured) except MyOwnNotes and I don't see why, it keep telling me that it try to connect to a server who use a self signed certificate.

Dear @eephyne , please try an import using the credential manager: https://aykit.org/sites/myownnotes.html

Just tested to add Cacert root cert via credential manager (it was a pain in the ass to remove the other one. it work (well it say invallid json but that's another story). But that's not solving my issues since I don't want to add a code pin to unlock (without the fact that he bug me about network watching in the status bar)

Ok I don't really get why but after added cacert via credential manager I used an app to move it to system and MyOwnNote is still working. I suppose the way it was moved was not the same as it was before. Weird…
Anyway to be useful to someone else, if that even happen to you, delete the old cert (which was in /system/etc/security/cacerts), reboot, add the cert via credential manager and then use the app Move Certs! (available in F-Droid) to move it in system (need root).

Thanks for clarifying.

interesting. thanks for pointing that out !
