Future of this extension?

Hello folks,

I'm Sylvain, the maintainer of Chaos Toolkit. I wanted to say how much I appreciate the work you've poured into this extension. AZ failure is a common request from Chaos Toolkit users who targets AWS.

I was wondering if you had plans for this extension in the future and/or if you'd be interested in bringing into the existing extension? https://github.com/chaostoolkit-incubator/chaostoolkit-aws

I have quite a few requests for this feature and I thought making it part of the default AWS extension would make it more visible and make users happy :)

Anyway, just wanted to have your point of view on this sort of contributions.

Cheers,

  • Sylvain

Hello Sylvain, it's certainly beneficial to have it as part of a single extension moving forward, however there are stateful actions in this extension that would need to be assessed further to see how best we can be merge it with the chaostoolkit-aws extension. Let's discuss this on the Chaos Toolkit community slack :-)

Great to hear you are open to the discussion. Please free to reach out to me anytime on slack!

Hello @farhanangullia

I'd love to pick up the thread of this discussion if you can in the near future. It's an often requested feature and I would like how to best include it in the known extensions set.

Cheers,

Hi Guys, Any decision on merging this with chaostoolkit-aws extension? I am thinking of adding features to simulate region failures. Pl suggest whether this should be done in chaostoolkit-aws or this one.

We were in discussion with @farhanangullia so this may be a good time to catch up indeed. Exciting idea @dhapola

Hello there, just a casual ping to see if this extension could be made available to the chaos toolkit project without having to fork? Cheers :)
