OSX support was added in #1 and the current binaries for OSX are located here. Is it not working?

I'm running El Capitan (10.11) and the image is downloaded but it seems only to successfully set the background the first time. After that, some fiddling in Desktop preferences is required to get it to update to the latest screenshot.

I'm thinking maybe Finder is ignoring the request to change the background because the filename is the same as the current wallpaper. I'll tinker with it a bit to see if I can figure it out.

Hmm...I might have found the culprit. I think I'll have to call killall Dock after setting the background. I'll fix that soon. Thanks for the help.
