Since I can't reproduce this problem, I'll need more info:

Atom version
minimap and minimap-git-diff version
OS version
Eventual stack trace in the console

Can we reopen this? This is happening for me. First time installing the plugin as well.

macOS El Capitan 10.11.6 (15G31)
Atom 1.9.9
minimap 4.24.7
minimap-git-diff 4.3.1

No errors in console.

Never mind. Turns out it was the minimap-hide package that did some weird stuff to the minimap. All of my minimap plugins weren't firing unless they were constantly toggled for every file. I uninstalled minimap-hide and it all magically worked again.
