[Feature Request] Insert in Existing Note

(As an option) instead of creating a new note, allow the book data to be downloaded (using the template) to either the top of the current note or location of the cursor.
I have hundreds of existing book notes, and although Book Search is great for retrieving all the information quickly, it's kind of a pain to combine the newly-created notes with the existing notes. I have to keep creating a new book note, copying the information, pasting it into the header of my existing note, and then deleting the note Book Search generated. It would be a lot quicker if I could just navigate to the existing note and have the template data plugged straight into that note.
I'm not the dev. But I think that you are referring to "Book Search: Insert metadata" option. If I understand correctly this does exactly what you want. Try it and let me know if your issue is resolved.
It does! I didn't even realize that was there. Thank you! Do you know if there's any way to access this other than via the Command palette?
I'm not sure but I think that's the only way. I think you could add a shortcut to the command. Or maybe try with the commander plugin.
Okay; thanks. I suppose I need to amend my feature request, then, to put this already-existing feature somewhere more visible/accessible -- maybe in the drop-down menu within the note?

Its good to complement frontmatter, but making chaos for making booklist note.
