What was it I have to do to get a flag displayed (actual IP) if the browser returns a local IP address?

I already had the feature and everything but a while ago I reset Firefox and lost the configuration and setup of this addon. Something involving additional install of an applet. I am currently unable to see any flag (only the 3-color triangle logo). I remember I have to do two things: install a minimal client application (still have the original) and then connect that application to this addon via what exactly? A command or code or something below on the addon's options page? I remember there was instructions of all this on addon.com or its predecessor site but I can't find it.
