But fear not, you need not be a tech pro to set this script up. No coding skills are required — I didn't even know how to code myself when I asked ChatGPT to write the code for me. That's right, I was too lazy to learn how to code, so I just asked a computer to do it for me.

While the script itself is free, you will have to pay (small) fees to OpenAI for using GPT-3.

Here's how to get started:

DOWNLOAD FOLDER

1. Download the ZIP folder of this repository (click on the green "Code" button -> Download zip)
2. Double click on the ZIP folder to open it, so it creates a normal, non-ZIP folder.

SETUP YOUR OPENAI API KEY

1. Go to https://beta.openai.com/account/api-keys and copy your API key.
2. Paste your API key into the "api_key" variable in 'background.js' (open the file with a text editor, e.g., TextEdit on Mac).
3. Verify that you have added a payment method for OpenAI by going to https://beta.openai.com/account/billing/payment-methods.

UPLOAD THE PLUGIN

1. Open your Chrome browser
2. Go to chrome://extensions/ (or click on Extensions -> Manage Extensions)
3. Toggle "Developer Mode" to "on" in the top right
4. Click on "Load unpacked"
5. Select the 'emailreply-main' folder

That's it! Open any email you (don't) want to reply to, then simply highlight the email text and right click to select "Email Reply" from the context menu.
