Download timeout error

When trying to download compiled icon set I receive the following error:
app.fontastic.me says:
Download Timeout. We are sorry, please try again.

Any possible solutions ? Is this repo still maintained or should we look for other solution for long term use ?

Hi,

I've just found the same issue. I wondered whether it was an offending vector icon so I unselected all the icons and started re-selecting each icon and then trying to download it with 1 icon in the font, then two icons and so on. After adding icons one by one I found one icon that made the site it time out. Checked that icons vector points and found that there were some random, overlapping points. I took those out, tried to download the pack and and everything worked fine.

I have now the same problem since about three weeks.
It does not matter the daytime or what browser I use or using a Mac or a Windows-PC: the error-massage comes everytime. In my case it can not depend on a single Icon, because it still hase worked before. And I have the same problem, even if I import only a single icon to the font. Did you find out what the problem was?
I although tried to contact fontastic.me several times, but they do not answer; not by mail, not by twitter.

We never received the answer, not via git nor via email so we moved on to another solution (cannot remember what exactly it was). I suggest you guys try to find something else ASAP and forget about this.

HI, I'm still interessted in solving this problem, because I can't find anything in the web about this problem. Does really no one else have problems with downloadimg the fontfile from fontastic.me? It is so irritating. So, ninoCookes, if you can find your solution in the past, I would be pleased. Thanks.

Fontastic download timeout error FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!! The issue is caused by an open path within an icon (svg). Just close any open path, delete old icon, load icon again and done. It will work again.

Weirdly enough, my icon pack has never had issues until I tried redownloading it last week and that's when it started timing out for me as well. Tried the "Publish" option as well, since I figured I could maybe get the font files and such via the CSS, but the published version wasn't including the classes for the new icons.

After reading this thread, I tried downloading the font with just a couple of glyphs and it worked. I added more and more glyphs until it timed out again, thus finding the culprit glyph. Interestingly enough, that one glyph hasn't changed in over 2 years since it was first added and the download used to work just fine with it. Removed that glyph (coincidentally I didn't need it anymore) and the download worked again!

P.S. Was almost gonna switch to Fontello, because apparently Fontastic is in radio silence. Got no answer on my email, despite this being a very time-sensitive issues for my team (which I had mentioned in my email).

Hi Radu, thank you for your answer. I tried it the same way as you did: I cleared all glyphs and started a new font only with a few glyphs, but it did not work, even not with a single one. Although it has worked before with the same glyphs. I tried to write to fontastic, via twitter and via email, but they dont answer since about two month now. So I have decided to switch to fontself. Thanks @raduluchian I found two glyphs that for some reason were causing trouble. After removing those we were able to download the pack again.

Everyone: I had the same issue and solved it as stated above. I also couldnt download the font anymore though I did not add icons, but then I started checking the icons one by one and there was one which was an svg consisting of two different paths. I replaced it and then it was possible again to download the font.
