automatic calculation on number of consumer processes not working properly

Describe the bug
trader has a mechanism (calc_num_consumer_processes()) for automatically selecting the number of optimal consumer processes. This is not working as expected. Logic should be re-visited and tested on Linux, Windows and Mac OSX
