Comparing initial segments of many routes

I run a game where the leaderboard has many different routes, but many routes share an initial segment, or even several initial segments in a path. It would be nice to have ways to compare those initial segments.
After playing around with the data model for a bit, I think that this would require a v2 of the S-expression format. I might implement this in my fork, but I wouldn't expect it to be merged here.
