`PyChromecast==10.0.0` and up breaks `cast_control`

Last working version of PyChromecast is 9.4.0, which is the last version before 10.0.0.
No error, playerctl works just fine, but something is failing to register with Plasma's MPRIS widget on KDE. Switching from >=10.0.0 to 9.4.0 fixes the issue.
