A stupid question, why use screencaptuerkit on mac since cpal can record input and output

Is there any limitation to using cpal on mac, such as using cpal to get input that is not microphone sound only, but also contains system audio?
Because cpal use coreaudio on macos, and coreaudio doesn't have loopback on default.
