[BUG] Travis CI Canary failed due to msg bash undefined after Sync Master

Describe the bug
After running CI master sync master to canary, Canary's CI runs with error due to head ref differs with Travis ref.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

1. Push Changes to Master
2. See Travis CI master runs sync canary
3. See Travis CI canary runs checkout branch
4. See error

Expected behavior
Travis CI shouldn't run, or rather should just echo error
