Bootstrap 4 dropdown menu is hidden

This isn't necessarily a bug, as much as it was just an inconvenience. I have a div for my nav, a container div for my content, and then the div for the left side menu. After adding the canvas tag, my bootstrap menu was hidden beneath my content div. I had to specify a z-index of -1 for my container div in order for the menu to show.
