avr-harlock-demo

A simple demo app for an AVR ATMega644 MCU, that reserves a small section of program memory to host its SHA1 hash for verification purposes. The bootloader is in a nested project, within the bootloader directory.

Pre-requisites

Before flashing the firmware, you have to program the fuses for the first time:

You can program the fuses to have the following settings by running make fuse:

  • Internal 8MHz clock
  • JTAG enabled
  • OCD enabled
  • Boot reset enabled with boot sector starting @0xE000 (4096 words, byte address)

Build

The root Makefile has a make and make flash-complete target that can be used to build a single .hex file containing both application and bootloader

make
make flash-complete

To build the bootloader separately

cd bootloader
make
