El acento de Sao Paulo es más cercano al portugués de Portugal porque fue la residencia del Imperio Portugués.
I think it really varies depending on where the person came from. Some of my friends have Portuguese grandparents, and they roll the R for certain words. But apart from that, I feel like people from Florianopolis sound much more like Portuguese. Florianopolis was settled by people from Azores.

There are differences. The gerund is not always used in the same places. For a Brazilian "Estou a fazer um bolo" doesn't sound correct, while for a Portuguese that is normal. And in Brazil nouns are promoted to verbs as in English (parabenizar instead of dar os parabéns).

In Goa India there are still surnames, and few people that still speak Portuguese. And in Indonesia there are words adopted from Portuguese too (bandeira, for instance), but very few people who can speak.

And from native languages too, which made its way to other languages, like capybara/capivara, tapioca, açaí, jacarandá, puma, etc.
In some parts of Brazil, there also words adopted from other languages. In Sao Paulo, due to Japanese and Italian immigration, there are some words that are common, like shoyu/molho de soja, nona/vovó, cazzo/#&*#$, ragazza/garota, etc
