Toponym variant source hover/click not working properly

On the place detail page, each toponym has a (src) link after it. These links cannot be clicked, although in the source they are valid hyperlinks.
Also, hovering the (src) links brings up a tooltip, but only if you hover exactly where the link will be underlined when you hover. Otherwise the cursor flickers between text and pointer mode. When present the tooltip completely covers the (src) link rahter than being offset from it.
