banned when a new player joins the server

Hi,
I have a private Imposter server running on my pc. Players can connect and play fine without mods.

However, we both get kicked and banned with an error message saying that we were cheating after installing the Sheriff mod and connecting to my server. It doesn't matter who connects first, the result is the same.

I have now disabled cheat/ban settings on the server so that we don't get kicked but now get the following messages on the server

the old-school sheriff mod doesn't support the up-to-date Impostor RPC calls. To use Impostor you have to change the source files of Impostor not to throw a cheat request and recompile it
