[bug] Unable to sign in and/or sign typed data w/ Metamask on mobile

Summary
On my local project I am unable to consistently sign in via Metamask on mobile and when I am able to sign in I can not sign typed data, metamask will hang or if it reirects back to the chrome browser it will hang on the browser with the metamask try again popup.
I am curious if anyone is able to signin and sign typed data on the web3modal labs page: https://lab.web3modal.com/library/ethers-siwe/
I am not able to consistently sign in, and when it does and I try to sign typed data it hangs on metamask with no additional pop ups for signing. This is only on mobile. Browser works perfectly in all instances. I would like confirmation if others are experiencing this as well, its possible it could be my phone.
I am on latest version of metamask on a Samsung Galaxy s23 ultra. Metamask mobile app v7.20.1
