Is there a reason for the repo to remain private? Otherwise, I'm all about sharing stuff.
Maybe @gonzalomerino has an opinion.
I am all for making it public. Sure.
Alex should also agree though. He is the software coordinator.

I'm in favor.
Would this be public-public? ...meaning open to everyone or just public to IceCubers.
Public to IceCubers? Definitely in favor. Public to everyone? Not seeing the utility, but also not seeing any downsides.
"private" is basically public to IceCube, since we'll give WIPACrepo access to anyone in the collaboration. That's where we are now.
The utility in "public to everyone" isn't for us, it's for someone else hunting for how people do this. I've poked at what other experiments do before, and it's unfortunate when you can't find exactly what it is and only have a presentation at a conference.
