Browser error when using VM datasource in editing grafana alerts

Please see the gif for the UI problem.
in the meantime, the browser console shows that It repeatedly calls the /api/v1/eval with Bad Request.
Grafana Version: 10.2.3
VM datasource Version: 0.5.0
Browser Version: Chrome Version 120.0.6099.109 (Official Build) (arm64)
