Gamescope (with session) segfaults when game starts

After updating to the latest git version, gamescope now segfaults when launched in gamescope session (or that is what I seem to understand). Running gamescope under another wm like Hyprland seems to be fine.
I am using gamescope-session-plus from AUR on Archlinux for direct Steam and OpenGamepadUI for testing. Both use gamescope session and both crash with the exact same segfault when games are started.
I am attaching dmesg output, let me know if more should be added:
gamescope_segfault_dmesg.log

I wasn't able to find an existing issue that referenced the same kind of segfault.
Please close this if it is a duplicate and link to the existing issue in case.

Hello @short-circuit, "gamescope-session-plus" looks like it is a third party modified fork of gamescope. It looks like your issue should be reported to the ChimeraOS package maintainers. If they find a reasonable hint that the issue is in the upstream project (here), then add that as a note and we can ponder this further.
