Unable to display large subcription feed & subscription names.

ArekkusuMagni opened this issue · comments

Error parsing 993 subscriptions. I do have over 900 subscriptions.

I am unable to get get feed to display. Additionally subscriptions do not show up properly unless I manually delete hundreds of my subscriptions to only a few. At that point they do show up in the feed and display the name of the channel in the subscription tab.

Data was sourced from google checkout.

Could you share your subscription list (if you don't want it public, you can also sent it privatly to me over Matrix)?

I'm registering an account for matrix via Nheko, I am getting a "Unknown auth stage type" when I open the fallback.

It is not working for me so here is the subscription file. I can remove it after you have confirmed you have downloaded it. Nothing to hide really.

Thanks I got it, I will try to find the issue in the next few days.

I think I have the same issue using v1.9.3 from Flathub. Seeing the following error:

Should I re-download my subscription data? Anything I can do on my end to rectify?

I think I have the same issue using v1.9.3 from Flathub. Seeing the following error:

Don't think this is the same issue (at least if you only have about 10 subscriptions). Sometimes the Piped-API is broken upstream and you will have to swap out the instance in the preference. I like to jump between https://pipedapi.kavin.rocks and https://pipedapi-libre.kavin.rocks.

Should I re-download my subscription data? Anything I can do on my end to rectify?

I am not sure what you mean and why you closed this.

I must have accidentally closed the issue ticket. my bad.

I tested around a little bit, it seems that you just have too many subscriptions for Piped to handle at once. I got in contact with the Piped maintainer on how we can fix this. I don't think you can do anything to fix this (other than subscribing to fewer channels). I will try to fix this in the next few days.

I have a possibly related issue, I'm not sure. I imported my subscriptions from a Newpipe export but the channel names are not shown, unless they appear in the feed.

That is a different issue, due to the way I query from Piped, I only have to make one request to get the entire feed and this feed only contains videos of the last 30 days. As Piped does not answer with the channel names of channels that are not in the feed, I cannot show their names there. I will probably make some workaround for this when I have time.

I'm getting the same issue with just 27 subscriptions though
