Crashing the system when pressing triangle

If I press triangle in the home directory (where you can access all the partitions) my vita completely restarts. reinstalling vitashell didn't help.
On a side note, is there any other way (without vitashell) of refreshing Livearea?
Accidentally installed an old version I had on my pc without realising, updating will probably fix this
