If I copy image to the clipboard I'd like to see it in the FlyCut
Has anyone looked into the effort to do this?
Not at all to cast doubt on the vitality of Flycut (I just contributed a PR with various fixes and feature improvements, so clearly I still think Flycut is a fine tool), I would write a new app if I wanted something like Flycut with support for images.
The effort would be huge to update every path that clipping data takes through the app to support more data formats; the data persistence would have to be updated and backward compatibility have to be planned for; and the UI would have to be revised as well. With the amount of effort that would take, I'd just write something in Swift/SwiftUI from scratch and take the benefit of faster development that those tools would provide.
I'm not suggesting adding Swift to Flycut at all in saying that, since tacking it onto a project doesn't confer its benefits to the legacy portions. As a "clean and simple clipboard manager for developers", Flycut is doing just fine on the MRR Objective-C that it is.
I recently found Maccy, which does support images.
