Recover backed up Rom issues

I did a backup with this recovery then tried to recover the backup. It shows it has recovered the backup, but throws an error: System UID not the same. And the recovered ROM loses all applications installed. Also, some native pre-installed apps like Internet browser throw fc when you try to run them. I even downloaded ROM Manager from Market but it threw an fc also. Consequently I had to go back to CWM 5.0.2.0 in order to restore another backup I did before flashing this recovery.
I'm going to assume HTC Droid Incredible?
Most likely this issue is related to formatting (wiping) of the partitions on MTD devices, which is somewhat messed up. Waiting on delivery of an EVO 4G so that I can add proper support of MTD devices again.
