Longer content: no scrollbar, content not visible

When putting more content into a page, the content is:

  1. not visible below the footer
  2. not scrollbar
  3. text formatting is centered (left or justify would be much nicer to read)

Is there a default way to fix it without touching the template by overriding some css values?
