Any plans on updating this library?

The last commit on this library was 27th October 2021 & many issues have opened up after that, but no work on them.
So should I invest time in integrating this SDK or just build something of my own using the storefront API?
Can someone from the Shopify team please chime in here? While I know that Hydrogen is the hot new library to use, there are still legacy sites using this buy-button. It would be great to have the official word on whether this library will continue to be supported or not. Thanks.
