How to preserve symbols when importing bookmarks?

Symbols like -, ' are not preserved after importing, though it seems no problem for jpdfbookmarks to display it after a fix. How can I preserve them?
In general, how can math formulas (TeX) be displayed in TOC? I know this might be overwhelming for you to do though.
