ORC and parquet format

It would be great if the ORC (http://docs.hortonworks.com/HDPDocuments/HDP2/HDP-2.0.0.2/ds_Hive/orcfile.html) and parquet (http://parquet.io/) file format would directly be accessible from R, that is, providing reader/writer for it.

Or is there already an inputformat available?

we now use the issue trackers for each specific package and this one should
be considered read-only. Could you please resubmit?
