Last Round Sanity Resets

Players are carelessly dropping their sanity on the last round because it essentially has no effect. They know that when the map changes, they're back at 1000 and damage reductions don't apply instantly.

To solve this, would it be a good idea to have half their sanity carry over to next map? And to have sanity drops apply instantly; but, to hide them from everyone else until round end?
