  • I have searched the issue tracker and did not find an issue describing my bug.

There seems to be an issue with your network, do you have a newer version of Windows 10? Older versions may not have the required certificates. The launcher gives an unknown network error, therefore you could try going to meta.polymc.org/v1/ . If that doesn't load, you could get more information as to why.

It's Windows 10 ReviOS. I have another partition of Win10, but in LTSB vesion, it doesn't work too.

Yes, I can access it.

I use the LTSB/LTSC version and it works for me, so that should minimize the chance of it being something to do with the OS. Seeing as you can access it, it makes sense you opened an issue. I'm not home right now so I currently can't help much further. I tested it on another computer right now and it does all load for me. Maybe there are some programs blocking the connection?

No, I don't even have an antivirus.

Make sure your firewall on windows didn't block PolyMC. There might have been a popup on first launch telling you to allow network access for PolyMC. You may have accidentally not allowed PolyMC proper network access

I've filled a report to Prism Launcher team on what it seems to be the same problem. Apparently PolyMC and Prism Launcher doesn't have support for Windows 10, only Windows 11. I tested PolyMC and Prism Launcher in Windows 11 on an improvised external HD and despite the Win11 slowness on my PC it worked fine without any problems.

The launcher simply doesn't ask for permissions and no window appear. Almost clean Windows installation, no firewall.

My conclusion is that the way these launchers are developed no longer supports Windows 10. I don't understand development and coding but I think it could be something related to "API" or something like that, a little experience from someone who has tried to use new programs on old systems.

They both do indeed support Windows 10, Qt5 versions even support Windows 7. While Prism
dropped support for 7, we still do have it. All of my friends use Poly on Windows 10 and it has always worked flawlessly, although it seems that you have some weird setup with which it does not work. Considering that the website does load in your browser, realistically the only issue should be firewall as Kaydax said. However you don't have a firewall active, as you said, and the error logging is too vague for us to conclude anything.

Have you done debloating to your LTSB install at all?

I don't think debloating has anything to do with it. I have a hyper-minified Spectre 10 installation and no issues using it..
