Navigation bar title truncated

Title is almost always truncated- "hello" fits but "hello world" becomes "hello wor...". And then if i make it longer like "hello world how are you" it becomes "hello world how are y...". Why is it truncating when it still has enough space to display the text? I saw this was an iOS 6 issue a while ago that was fixed, but it's happening to me in iOS 7. Am I missing something?
