Owl-Carousel - inconsistency between the image clicked and the one shown

I have an owl-carousel, when clicked on the image, opens a modal showing a carousel of product images
1.click on the image;
2. modal opening with carousel that shows the first image, regardless of the image you click on;
3.when closing and reopening the modal, the image shown is the last one displayed previously, not the one clicked.
what is the function in the configuration file that manages this functionality or can I insert a javascript script that intervenes to correct this inconsistency?
