wrong colors in mac os x snow leopard terminal

Fixed by using iTerm 2 instead of Terminal.

Weird, Terminal app works fine for me. Do you have $SHELL set to xterm-256color?

Is that the variable I had to assign? No, I had TERM=xterm-256color . No wonder it didn't work.
