Bots going in range of enemy towers

Riveon opened this issue · comments

In general bots seem to walk in range of enemy towers unnecessarily when pathing (e.g. after towerdiving for a kill CM went back the same way past the enemy tower and died; at another point she walked near the tower to attack the enemy bot and died from tower hits).
I've noticed in two matches that when this script is on Radiant, that bots go past this enemy tower to get to mid instead of taking a safer route (often dying as a result).
dire
Further on in the match, LC blinked on me, didn't duel me, and then proceeded to retreat on a path that took her up to the Dire T3 tower. (Gif). I've seen this happen again since (on the 19th of May) so she still retreats into range of the T3 tower sometimes.

Also, at one point Invoker went to the Radiant jungle shrine and then went to midlane through the river. Obviously not as dangerous as walking past the tower, but it would have been less risky for him to go back on the radiant side rather than through the river.

Blink is weird in a lot of ways - probably the same reasoning as for some abilities like Invokers Alacrity - initiating but not committing to doing it.
Edit: The heroes blink in and then retreat, that is the case for about 50% of the blink uses....

Yep you're right. And in a lot of cases it seems like they want to retreat by blinking in the direction of their base but they end up blinking in the opposite direction.

Here's a gif showing another tower evasion/avoidance issue I noticed, where CM kept getting hit by the tower.
