Project description
From what I can tell, this project seems to be called "GNOME Shell Mobile" or something along those lines, but it is the GNOME project's work-in-progress, to-be, official mobile interface. This would be an alternative to Phosh or Plasma Mobile.
see:
- "GNOME Shell on mobile: An update"
- pull request for postmarketos
- from a quick skim of the pmos PR, maybe from this branch of gnome-shell: https://gitlab.gnome.org/verdre/gnome-shell/-/tree/mobile-shell, same user has a mutter fork, looks like maybe a temp gjs fork, etc
I managed to run it on my oneplus-enchilada in this gist: https://gist.github.com/chuangzhu/446399874774b4959923c3af7cd44c87
On my device, I need to set the scale to 300% to activate the mobile UI. However, GDM fails to login in 300% scale after I logout. I have to edit ~/.config/monitors.xml
and change it back to <scale>2</scale>
from ssh.
Seems that @vlinkz have got more things working here mobile-nixos/mobile-nixos#576
I made an overlay for gnome-mobile: https://github.com/chuangzhu/nixpkgs-gnome-mobile. It worked really well in the past week on my oneplus-enchilada. I'm supposed to maintain this overlay until these patches got upstreamed to mainline gnome-shell.

Running your overlay on my Librem 5. Looks nice!
I do not have sound in (phone)calls, but that is the same with vanilla Gnome, and with Phosh. Something Pipewire I think.
