Space's context menu settings

The Problem

While scrolling the spaces list at the left with a touchpad, it can happen to mis-tap and unwillingly change the notification counts setting and the hidden room setting.

The Solution

Maybe move the settings away from there; they need not be easily reachable, as they don't change very often.

Or an additional menu level, a confirmation dialog...

Vice versa, when right-clicking on a space, it is easy to scroll accidentally, so that it is unclear which space the context menu belongs to.

That is very unlikely to happen. We use context menus everywhere. If you open and activate those regularly by just scrolling, then that would need a lot more changes and that doesn't sound like a typical use case. Maybe you should just disable the left mouse button by tapping setting in your OS settings?
