Merge EML branch into master

The master branch currently contains the recordr version that was submitted to CRAN. This
branch does not contain any functionality that was dependent on the R EML package, as EML
had not been submitted to CRAN. Now that EML is a CRAN package, the EML branch, which has
the EML dependencies, can be merged to master.
