What will happen in your session?

In our session, we'll provide a detailed introduction to Blockchain Technology. We'll then highlight the main differences between Ethereum and Bitcoin Blockchain. This will introduce participants to key concepts such as Smart Contracts- that are vital to the session.
Our session will be as interactive as possible. We'll allow participants to ask/answer relevant questions about Blockchain. Questions about types of ledgers(specifically) will be the precursor to an in depth discussion on decentralized Networks and their advantages. Afterwards,we'll mention that Ethereum allows developers to build Decentralized applications. We'll highlight instances of how Decentralized Applications have been utilized for Human rights and Advocacy purposes before. The final part of the session will be an open discussion on other ways Blockchain can impact Advocacy.

What is the goal or outcome of your session?

Not a lot people are aware that Blockchain Technology can be used for other uses other than Cryptocurrency(Special mention to Bitcoin). Participants of our session will understand that cryptocurrency is just but one particular of a blockchain. We will give examples and extensive ideas of how Blockchain technology can be leveraged( Not only limited to Human Rights and Advocacy). Our session promises to be thought provoking; participants will realize that any services that are centralized can be decentralized. They will also understand the importance of decentralized networks, and more so, decentralized applications.

In a nutshell, when participants leave our session, they will know much more about Blockchain and how to leverage it in their own projects/organizations.
