Core Hangs During X Multiply Attract Mode

The core seems to hang after the ship defeats the first boss in demo/attract mode. Ship moves to upper center of screen after if clears the defeated boss screen and some graphic artifacts/sprites appear below it with 40000 displayed in lower right. Mode hangs at this point and never advances or resets. A reset of the core will start the sequence again but it will always hang in same place.
Latest release core/MRA appears to have fixed the hang issue.
