What would a good name be?

...it seems that autopublish might be a bit misleading for meteor devs.

What would you propose?
What about packaging.meteor.com?

Hardest part of creating something, naming it :p

autopackage
package
publish
packaging
meteorpublish

All the Meteor stuff has something to do with space-themed objects (Meteorite), high altitude weather (Atmosphere), or destruction caused by them (Spark, Blaze). I think this should be named in a similar fashion - preferably after something fast.

How about Aurora?

Hi @mizzao!
I simply think Aurora would be a great name!
Awesome proposal :-)

...since our bot user is undergoing a really bad experience (it's no more able to log in to publish packages...), this might be the right time to reason a bit more on the future of aurora.meteor.com

A fresh (re-)start could be the right thing to do right now...

Excellent!

I don't understand the problem with the bot. Is it a small problem or a big problem?

EDIT: Oh dear, aurora.meteor.com has a squatter (0.8.1.1). Since it's literally a hello world app, we can perhaps politely ask MDG to reset it.

...the problem with the bot might be a big one :(
I think starting with a new bot user would be the best option, but this means every package with meteorpublish as a maintainer should be changed to switch to the new user...
So, since we'll have to bother packages' authors anyway, this might be the right time to also change the subdomain to autora...

What about asking on forums.meteor.com who's owning aurora.meteor.com?
...how many probabilities do you think we'll have to get a reply? ;-)

@splendido it doesn't seem like too big of a problem. Why don't we just politely ask MDG to (1) reset the password for your bot, and (2) remove the year-old squatter app on aurora.meteor.com? I'm sure they will think it is a good cause.

Aurora tells me nothing, and I like autopackage, but that's a very utilitarian and non-artistic perspective :)

Right, why wouldn't MDG undo the change of meteorpublish to a user?

And how many devs would we have to bother to change the username? I'm pretty sure the twbs guys will do it ASAP, so minus them.

If they can call it atmosphere, we can call it aurora. :-)

aurora is the atmospheric 'process' giving rise to a new day...

If we take day for package,
I think it fits very well our scenario ;-)

@mizzao: who would you be pinging at MDG to discover who's the owner of autora.meteor.com?

...who's taken the aurora org? :-)

...as backups what about:

  • auroraborealis
  • auroraaustralis
  • sunrise
  • dawn

@splendido Is there a version of the new one online yet?

Ideas:

  • pubbot
  • terraformer
  • autobot
  • harvester

I've simply put back to work the old one by changing the bot user which is now publishbot.

I'd love to start again fro scratch with cleaner code and better tests, but I think it's not only me to have to decide about this. I'd like to have more or less all finished here (new wrappers are still not fully supported, and Meteor build machines don't have all stuff installed to perform tests, to cite a few points...) before starting the new project.

The major problem form my side is the lack of spare time ;-)

I've tried to start a thread on the forums but it seems that not that much people is interested about this ;-)

Good name! Just ran meteor admin maintainers twbs:bootstrap --add publishbot.

@dandv: a good name for what? the publish bot?
