Opening a new file closes the node editor and sidebar but does not toggle the "hide/show" buttons in the View menu

Hi,
Installed from the master branch in a virtual environment using python 3.8 on Linux.
How to replicate:
- Open mathinspector
- Click View menu
- Click Show sidebar
- Click File menu
- Click New File
- Click OK on confirmation dialog
- Sidebar disappears
- Click View menu
- "Hide Sidebar" button is still present instead of "Show sidebar"
