Tikz vs metapost

Have you considered using metapost, for this project is implemented using tikz? I am in doubt which one I shall go for.
I did look at metapost, but TikZ is much higher level, allowing me to write much more concise code.
Indeed, thanks for the info. Tikz should be the first option for modern usage.
