Dedicated operations to draw common shapes

contrapunctus-1 opened this issue · comments

It would be nice to have dedicated operations to draw

  1. a circle - the user enters the diameter
  2. a square - the user enters one edge
  3. a rectangle - the user enters two edges

The lines required could be drawn like usual open ways. This is what JOSM does.

Alternatively, a more touchscreen-idiomatic way would be for the user to select the operation (Draw Circle/Draw Square/Draw Rectangle), and touch and drag to draw the shape. Vespucci would infer the dimensions, and could also show a preview as the user drags their finger. This is similar to how most drawing programs work.
