Notification indicator not hiding filtered notifications

Describe the bug
I have turned off notifications for Boosts and Favourites using the filter option. However, now, when one of my posts gets boosted or favourited, the indicator on the "Notifications" pane's button still shows that I have a new notification, when it should be filtered out. Also, if I recieve multiple notifications, the indicator includes the ones that should be filtered out (so if I have a boost and a new follower, it shows 2 new notifications, even though I turned off notifications for boosts).
To reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
- Filter out some types of notification
- Wait until you get those notifications
- They rightly don't show up on the notifications page…
- …but they are taken into consideration by the indicator.
Does this happen in the official app?
Does this issue also occur with the respective upstream release?
No, not in the official Mastodon app, because it supports neither notification filtering nor a notification indicator.
