Failed to sign with Ledger device: U2F TIMEOUT

Hi all,

I am using BRAVE with the Ledger X with the latest apps on the Ledger and the latest version of Ledger Live.

I found that when I launched the Ethereum app, Ledger Live would drop me out of the app back to the home screen on the Ledger. When I tried to transact (without Ledger Live running) I was getting the above error.

I saw a couple of posts about this Ledger issue on different platforms, some with slightly different wording in the returned error but the above error was what I was getting (Failed to sign with Ledger device: U2F TIMEOUT). The reason for the error is self explanatory however the fix or work around was not easy to find. I did all the things like turn off blue tooth, reinstall the ETH app, change UBB-C cables etc. The fix I discovered was in MetaMask. MetaMask - SETTINGS - ADVANCED - USE LEDGER LIVE needs to be toggled ON. Open Ledger live, initiate the transaction and the the bridge opens. Acknowledge the 3rd party access and confirm on the Ledger X. Worked for me.

Thank you very much @crypto727 had the same problem on Chrome, Opera an Brave and didn't knew about this setting. I tried what you said and it worked.
